Welcome and well met! You may not have my name, but you may call me Morrigan Harker (they/them, fae/faer). I’m a writer and aspiring podcaster, artist, and musician living in the United States.

On the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Bridge, October 2019

What I’m working on now: a novel-length sequel/retelling of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” with the working title The Hollow Bones. I’m also working on various short stories focused on subverting cosmic horror and science fiction/fantasy tropes.

What I love to write: science fiction and fantasy, sometimes bringing the paranormal, supernatural, and mystery along for the ride. I write about my obsessions, including mythical beings, magic systems, and my love of immersive worldbuilding.

Where I’ve been featured:

What I seek inspiration from: the old fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen, Alexander Pushkin, and the Brothers Grimm, the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Gaston Leroux, Washington Irving, Andrzej Sapkowski, Diana Wynne Jones, and John Flanagan, and the music of Jeremy Soule, Vindsvept, Evanescence, Myrkur, Kamelot, and Nightwish, among others

My other interests: Just like I write to let people escape reality and bring them into another world, I’ve also been drawn to creating my own sanctuary. These days, I’m teaching myself how to make my own clothes and accessories, how to DIY home decor pieces, and how to make more healthy foods from scratch. If this is something that calls to you, then come along with me on this adventure!
